Self-Portraits created by ArtStar’s Girls Group- we studied the paintings of Frida Kahlo and talked about how art can be used to express feelings and help us communicate things to others by using symbols to represent our experiences. They were so interested in how she portrayed her sorrow and love as well as her very bushy eyebrows!

We all had so much fun creating t-shirts!

A shirt and stencil made by Jose- he worked so hard on this and it came out great!

“Taino Symbols” Jose (11th grader at PVPA) combined a couple of Puerto-Rican symbols together to create this unique t-shirt design.
